Sri Koragajja Charitable Trust, Urwa

Inspired by the divine blessings and noble teachings of Sri Koragajja, the revered guardian deity of Tulunadu, Sri Koragajja Charitable Trust, Urwa was established with a vision to transform compassion into meaningful action.

We firmly believe that true devotion is not confined to places of worship but is best expressed through serving humanity and standing beside those facing life's greatest challenges.

Our Trust is committed to supporting economically weaker families, underprivileged children seeking education, patients unable to afford medical treatment, and individuals struggling with poverty and unforeseen hardships.

Regardless of caste, religion, language, or background, we extend our helping hand to every deserving individual based solely on genuine need.

Our guiding principle is simple:

No child should be deprived of education, no patient should be denied medical treatment, and no family should lose hope because of financial hardship.

Our Origin & History

The Sri Koragajja Charitable Trust was born from the Seva Samithi at the sacred Urwa Koragajja Kshethra. Over years of organizing local community services, food distribution, and emergency aids, the devotees and Samithi members recognized a growing need to establish a structured, formal organization. This led to the registration of the Sri Koragajja Charitable Trust (R) to reach more beneficiaries across Mangaluru and Dakshina Kannada.

Key Service Programs

Widows & Elderly Support

Providing monthly pensions, health supplies, and daily food provisions to lonely, aged individuals and widows.

Artist Welfare (Yakshaashraya)

Helping local Yakshagana and folk artists facing extreme financial hardship with housing and life insurance.

Emergency Relief Aid

Responding instantly with food kits, clothing, and financial aid during fires, floods, and personal tragedies.

Weekly Seva & Annadhana

Every Friday and during special festive occasions, the Trust organizes community Annadhana (sacred food offering) at the Kshethra. Over 1,500+ devotees and underprivileged individuals are served fresh, warm meals prepared with devotion. Additionally, special pooja services and distribution of prasadam are carried out regularly under the supervision of the temple committee.

Trust Governance & Transparency

The Sri Koragajja Charitable Trust (R), Urwa operates under the strict guidelines of a registered trust board consisting of dedicated devotees, social workers, and community leaders. All financial contributions are fully audited annually, ensuring 100% transparency. Every rupee donated is directed specifically toward medical emergencies, educational sponsorships, and direct relief projects with zero administration overhead.
